Upper Room Church - OUR STORY
Pastor Steve Foss had an angelic encounter at 2am one morning in October of 2008 and he received a divine call of God to start The Upper Room Church. With many supernatural confirmations that followed, Pastors Steve and Carrie Foss began to prepare for an Easter launch. They only knew a handful of people; definitely not enough to start a church, but despite that they knew they had heard from God. With no guarantees, and a deep faith in the word God had spoken, they stepped out and opened the doors of the Upper Room on April 12th, 2009.
The Upper Room experienced amazing growth, and by Dec. 2009 was running over 250 people. The Upper Room started in a small sanctuary that seated 100 and within 4 months expanded to seat 250, adding children's classes and nursery. Then by our 1 year anniversary we had to expand for a second time to a new sanctuary seating 400+ and go to two weekend services. Throughout our second year the spiritual and numerical growth continued and we expanded the sanctuary for a third time in February so that we can now seat over 550. As of Oct., 2011 the Upper Room was running around 800 people who attend the church. The Upper Room Church is one of the fastest growing churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
We also are having worldwide impact with over 800 churches under our spiritual covering as well as ten's of thousands every year completing our Armed for War discipleship course. Although we celebrate what God has done numerically, what really excites us is seeing the spiritual breakthroughs happening in people's lives as His agenda continues to be advanced.
The Upper Room has been seeing an awesome move of the spirit; a move that has changed many lives and brought healing to many wounded souls. We have seen amazing things but we know that this is only the beginning. God is preparing us for something more than just building a church, God is waiting and longing for someone to break open the spiritual atmosphere over Dallas/Fort Worth and re-dig the wells of revival! It is our vision and our unending goal to see the name of Jesus exalted and His kingdom established here in the Earth!

About Pastor Steve
Steve Foss is a carrier of revival fire and travels the nations of the world seeing multitudes changed by the power of God's presence. Through the Holy Spirit, he is impacting this next generation through the Word of God with signs and wonders following. God has graced him with a unique gift of wisdom that allows him to operate in apostolic and prophetic anointings. This grace is helping to lead the body of Christ back to a restoration of her foundations.
His passions are to prepare the church so that God's glory may once again fill His temple and to raise a prophetic army that will gather the harvest.
Surrounded by an undesirable lifestyle, Steve became involved in drugs and alcohol at a young age. His addictions were so strong that he was even stealing and dealing to pay for them. At age 17, during his senior year of high school, the school called his mother and asked her to drop him out or else he would be permanently expelled. He continued deeper into drugs, alcohol, and partying and in January of 1986, almost had a nervous breakdown.
Steve decided to go back to school and on May 2, 1986 during a college campus revival, he gave his heart to Jesus and was instantly delivered from five years of drug addiction. God completely took the desire for those things out of his heart forever.
Two days later Steve had another miraculous encounter with God. While on his knees praying, God spoke to Steve and said, "I have called you to preach my gospel..." Steve said, "Yes Lord, I will." He was then gloriously, baptized in the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues. He began to passionately seek God by studying His Word and praying daily for hours. Step by step, God began to lead and teach him. In 1988, he held his first Bible study and after only 17 months, Steve saw over 500 people answer the altar calls. After that, he started five more campus outreaches touching over 120 youth every week.
In 1990, God opened the door for Steve to help create Young Warriors, a very successful ministry under Morris Cerullo World Evangelism. By 1993, he began traveling internationally and saw God work tremendously. He has ministered to millions and has seen multitudes saved and even more baptized in the Holy Spirit around the world. As a revivalist, Steve has lead 2 long term revivals, one lasting 25 months in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. More than 250,000 people have now completed his one-year discipleship course. God has also used Steve to train over 80,000 pastors and leaders in various schools of ministry from more than 70 nations. Pastor Steve Foss is now the senior Pastor of the Upper Room Church in Keller, Texas where God continues to move mightily with signs and wonders following.
